ACRL-CHOICE Fall Webinar Program for Academic Libraries

The ACRL-CHOICE webinar program connecting academic and research librarians with a host of content and service providers, publishers and other experts who serve their market is back  with an exciting new fall roster of topics and speakers discussing issues pertinent to today’s academic library landscape.

Launched in spring 2013, the program was kicked off with an exploration of the library of the future, featuring the University of Washington Information School’s Joe Janes, author of the Rowman & Littlefield title Library 2020.  This first webinar for ACRL-CHOICE proved as stimulating as its topic, with over 500 participants attending the program.  Next up in late May was an equally thought-provoking discussion of the state of libraries and eBooks, featuring EBSCO Vice President, eBooks and Audiobooks, Scott Wasinger.

Upcoming ACRL-CHOICE webinars will cover a wide gamut of timely topics important to academic libraries, including:

  • Thursday, August 22, 2 p.m. ET — Key Trends in Business Research — Featuring Jo-Anne Hogan, publisher for ProQuest’s business product portfolio, the focus will be on the constantly changing information needs of business researchers, including new technology, changes in MBA courses, and shifts in the relative importance of subject areas, all of which place different demands on business researchers. • Tuesday, September 24, 2 p.m. ET — Assessing Your Collection by Quality and ROI — This webinar will discuss how Resources for College Libraries (RCL) can provide libraries with essential qualitative assessment tools to ensure their collections contain titles critical to undergraduate research and success. A panel will discuss how RCL can be leveraged in both the stand-alone database and within the new Intota Assessment service, and also how using Intota Assessment can help libraries understand how and when their collection is being used.
