Note: Please consider participating in the survey described below, by our colleagues at the Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) Consortium, if appropriate.
Registration for the 2013-2014 Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) Consortium’s Research Practices Survey is now open. The survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete, collects information on students’ research experiences.
It was carefully revised in the spring of 2013 to improve its assessment of information literacy skills and now includes questions that map to each of the Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education, developed by the Association of College and Research Libraries. Faculty and librarians can use information from this survey to develop pedagogies and materials to advance students’ information literacy skills.
Since 2004, HEDS has administered this survey to more than 30,000 undergraduates at over 60 colleges and universities. All institutions, regardless of whether they belong to HEDS, are welcome to participate. Find out more about the survey and how to register. Institutions will need to register soon if they would like to survey students at the beginning of the first term.
