ACRL 2011 Video Contest Deadline Jan. 21!

The Jan. 21 deadline for the ACRL 2011 video contest is fast approaching! We’re looking for videos about why people should come to ACRL 2011 in Philadelphia, March 30 – April 2, 2011. After all, no one can convince people like their colleagues. It’s easy to enter; just send us a video up to 3 minutes long using any format you like. Be creative, have fun with it. Pull from your past conference experiences, or if you’re a first timer, tell us why you can’t wait to come. You know you love the ACRL Conference. Now share that love with a fun video!

Video is so easy now! If your library doesn’t have equipment, chances are you know at least a dozen people with a Flip camera. We’re not looking for professional production, just you – or you and your frolleagues (that’s a friend/colleague) – being clever and convincing. Actually, you don’t even need people OR equipment to make a video. If you can type, you can make a video – no excuses, and besides, how cute are those fuzzy little avatars? It’s so easy, even we can do it!

If you win, you’ll get your choice of 2 free ACRL 2011 registrations OR 1 group ACRL 2011 virtual conference registration (good for up to 3 people – great for sharing with frolleagues). Simply post your video online (using YouTube or any way that is most convenient for you), tag it with acrl2011 and send the URL to Tory Ondrla, ACRL Conference Supervisor, at tondrla@ala.org. We’ll send you an e-mail confirmation that we received your video. The deadline for submission is January 21, 2011 (11:59 p.m. Central). Seriously, no late entries.

Complete details, including all the fun legal stuff, are available on the ACRL 2011 website.
