ACRL offers a variety of scholarship opportunities each year to cultivate future library leaders, including annual sponsorship of an ALA Spectrum Scholarship. Spectrum supports students and leaders from racial and ethnic groups critically underrepresented in the library profession.
We are delighted to share that ACRL will match all Spectrum gifts made through December 31, 2018, up to a total of $6,000. That’s right, your gift to the Spectrum Scholarship Program counts twice if you give before the end of the year. As Spectrum concludes its 20th Anniversary: A Celebration of Community, you can help the program reach its $130,000 goal—equivalent to funding 20 Spectrum Scholarships in honor of its 20 years!
Your contribution helps combat the rising cost of graduate education and builds a critical mass of students, professionals, and LIS faculty invested in advancing social justice initiatives in library services and library spaces. Spectrum Scholars come into the profession as community activists, organizers, and educators. This network provides space for practicing self-care and embracing new perspectives; but too often, Scholars have done this work alone. Your support helps the program pair acknowledgement with resources for action.
Now more than ever, the smallest contributions will make the biggest difference. We sincerely appreciate your generosity.
