Name: Amy Wainwright
Institution: John Carroll University, University Heights, OH
Job Title: Outreach and Student Engagement Librarian
How long have you been a member of ULS?
For about 3-4 years
What or who inspires your work?
I’m most inspired by the work that my other outreach/engagement colleagues are doing. Student feedback and gratitude drives me to continue to find ways to support students and make them feel welcome.
What most excites you about academic librarianship?
I love working with college students. They grow, learn, and change so much in their time on campus and it’s wonderful to build relationships with them. I absolutely get my energy from working with students to plan events or handing out treats during finals.
What exciting or interesting project are you working on right now?
I am the most excited about the collaborations I have with our Student Health and Wellness department on campus. We are currently working on a plan to incorporate more wellness support and promotion into the library.
What do you do for fun?
I teach a class on gender and sexuality once a year, I knit and run, and try to be engaged with my local community.
