ACRL Story Video Contest Deadline Feb. 28!

The submission deadline for out ACRL story video contest is coming on on Feb. 28! We’re looking for videos about what the association means to you, our members. To enter the contest, submit a video of no more than one minute in length answering one of the following questions:

  • Tell us a story about what you, as a member of the academic library community, contribute to your campus and how ACRL has had a role in making that possible.
  • Tell us about a time you felt on top of your game in your career and how ACRL helped you get there.
  • Tell us a story about the personal connections you’ve made in ACRL and what those relationships have meant to you.
  • Tell us how ACRL helps you make an impact on the profession.
  • Tell us about your favorite ACRL moment.

Selected videos will receive one year of free ACRL membership (a $57 value, does not include ALA membership) and an invitation to the ACRL 2013 Chair’s Reception held Thurs., April 11 at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis. Complete details and submission requirements are available on the ACRL website.

The deadline for submission is Feb. 28, 2013, and all applicants will be notified via email by March 29, 2013.

Show Us Your Henry!

ACRL 2013 PosterACRL recently mailed out this poster featuring Henry Rollins for the ACRL 2013 conference, to be held April 10 — 13, 2013, in Indianapolis. Show us your copy and enter our latest conference contest!

Simply post a picture of the poster hanging in your office/library/house/wherever! to our ACRL 2013 Facebook page (or post to Twitter with the hashtag #henry2013) by Wednesday, November 21, 2012, and enter to win a Henry Rollins prize pack of merchandise. The prize pack includes his latest photography book, Occupants, your choice of t-shirt from the official Henry Rollins store, your very own Search & Destroy coffee mug, and a copy of the poster signed by Henry Rollins.

ACRL 2013 Proposals, Scholarships Deadline Nov. 9!

ACRL 2013 LogoThe application deadline for ACRL 2013 Cyber Zed Shed presentation, poster session, roundtable discussion and Virtual Conference webcast proposal, submissions along with scholarship applications, is fast approaching! Share your expertise with you colleagues by submitting your proposals via the online form by Nov. 9, 2012. Details on presentation types are available there as well.

ACRL is offering 70 scholarships in five categories worth more than $40,000 for the upcoming conference to be held April 10-13, 2013, in Indianapolis. Applications for scholarships in all categories are also due Nov. 9, 2012. ACRL 2013 scholarship categories are Librarian Scholarships, Support Staff Scholarships (underwritten by ProQuest), Student Scholarships, Spectrum Scholar Travel Grants, and Virtual Conference Scholarships.
