Hendrick headshot1Rachel Hendrick has been named operations manager of Choice, effective immediately.  The premier source of reviews of academic books and digital resources of interest to scholars and students in higher education, Choice is a publication of ACRL.

Rachel Hendrick brings an academic background in librarianship and over 10 years magazine publishing experience to the operations manager position at Choice.  She began her career at Life Magazine, first as a photo researcher working with Time Inc.’s picture collection and later in editorial production. Since then, she has worked at various national and international publishing houses including Reader’s Digest and Conde Nast. Most recently, she project managed the final production of Sotheby’s digital iPad catalog.

In addition to her professional knowledge of publishing, she offers an expertise in librarianship. In 2007, Hendrick was awarded a master’s degree in library and information science with a concentration in rare books from Long Island University. In her academic career, she cataloged, curated, and helped stage an exhibition of a rare books collection for a private client.  She also holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Pratt institute with a concentration in art history.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rachel Hendrick to Choice as operations manager,” said Choice Editor and Publisher Mark Cummings. “While it is true that she has big shoes to fill, Rachel brings with her a unique blend of experience in publishing, librarianship, and academia, one that will certainly be to the benefit of Choice, now and in the future.”

Hendrick steps into the role vacated by Tom Radko, who was promoted to editorial director of Choice earlier this year after serving as operations manager for five years, and will report Cummings.
