Member of the Week: John Eaton

John EatonJohn Eaton is Law Librarian at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. John has been an ACRL member since 2012, is the recipient of the 2012 ACRL LPSS Marta Lange/CQ Press Award, and is your ACRL member of the week for August 13, 2012.

1. Describe yourself in three words:  Curious, funny, musical.

2. What are you reading right now? I’m currently reading 1848: Year of Revolution by Mike Rapport which details that tumultuous year in European history.

3. Describe ACRL in three words: Enormous, scholarly, influential.

4. What do you value most about ACRL? Its representation of the scholarly aspects of librarianship

5. What do you value about academic or research librarianship? I most value contributing to the academic and scholarly mission of my faculty and university

6. In your own words: Mine has been an enormously rewarding career spanning two decades in which I like to think I’ve made a significant contribution to the legal education of the many graduates of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law.
