With the Major League Baseball season more than halfway over, now is a great time to remind library users that there’s still time to win a trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
As part of ALA’s Step Up to the Plate @ your library program, a new trivia question is posted on atyourlibrary.org/baseball each week. Players have one week to visit their library to use the print and electronic resources to answer the question correctly. All correct answers will be entered into a weekly drawing for a prize pack.
All correct answers provided throughout the season will be entered into a final grand-prize drawing for a chance to win a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. The trip includes attendance at the Hall of Fame’s World Series Gala and a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum and archives.
Libraries can share the trivia questions on their Facebook and Twitter pages in order to have ready-made content throughout the remainder of the summer and to plug in to the national contest. Baseball-themed programming ideas and sample social media content are also available on atyourlibrary.org/baseball.
