Early-bird registration deadline approaching for Women’s Leadership Institute
ACRL is once again collaborating with higher education associations to offer the 2011 Women’s Leadership Institute. Coproduced by several higher education associations, this unique program brings together administrators from across campus functions to help you:
- Hone your leadership skills for working in a rapidly changing environment
- Develop a better understanding of the campus as a workplace and culture
- Share experiences with others about how campuses are adapting and adjusting to new realities
- Create new personal networks and networking skills to better tap the higher education community
Through presentations, small-group exercises and discussions, gain a practical understanding of what it takes to be a leader on a college or university campus. The program has the added benefit of bringing together women from administrative and student affairs functions across institutions of higher education. It provides a special opportunity to learn, not just about leadership skills, but about how other parts of the campus function, what their priorities and challenges are, and how to bridge the communication gap that may exist when we try to work across “cultures.”

How to register
Register by Oct. 12 (CA program) or Oct. 26 (FL program) to receive a special Early Bird discount! Registration materials are available online.
Two scholarships to cover registration fees are available for each session of the Women’s Leadership Institute. Scholarships are open to all those that wish to apply; however, preference will be given to women professionals from community colleges, tribal colleges and universities, historically black colleges and universities, or Hispanic-serving institutions.
