The ACRL Scholarly Communications Committee is pleased to announce the selection of Ada Emmett as the newest presenter for the ACRL Scholarly Communications 101 Workshops. Ada will join the team of experienced presenters beginning with this summer’s series of workshops. Ada has served as Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of Kansas Libraries since 2002. The search committee, comprised of members of the ACRL Scholarly Communications Committee led by Jean Zanoni, noted Ada’s extensive experience and knowledge of issues related to scholarly communication, her teaching skills, her impressive publication record, and her passion for scholarly communication.

The position announcement generated a strong pool of candidates.  Twelve applications were reviewed by the search committee who also conducted phone interviews and reference checks with three finalists.

“I am very pleased that the ACRL Scholarly Communications 101 Workshop program has created this opportunity for the development of new instructors in the Scholarly Communications domain. This is a wonderful addition to the many positive impacts of the ‘Roadshows’,” said Barbara DeFelice, Chair of the ACRL Scholarly Communications Committee.
