ALA Election Ballot Initiative Revisions

Based on member feedback, the language of the ALA Executive Director Degree Requirement ballot initiative in the current ALA election has been revised. An email has been sent to members who have already voted, giving them the opportunity to go back and re-vote if they feel they voted incorrectly on the initiative. Anyone who has not yet voted will see the revised wording (Vote Yes to require the Executive Director to hold an ALA -accredited Master’s Degree or a CAEP-accredited Master’s Degree with a specialty in school library media. Vote no if you support retaining the current policy that says the ALA -accredited Master’s Degree or a CAEP-accredited Master’s Degree with a specialty in school library media is preferred.)

ALA apologizes for any inconvenience due to members who have already voted in the election.

Make sure to help shape the future of your associations by voting in the ALA/ ACRL election by April 4.
